Another crazy day. . .

Everything I did today came back with corrections...I don't know if
its because I left at six yesterday or because I can't function while
working these kind of hours for so long. Either way, I'm mentally and
physically exhausted and cannot wait for this dreadful week to end -
to get some sleep, eat some sashlik, finish reading "Picture of Dorian
Gray" and have some "family fun"!

US Open

I managed to escape and on my way to my first ever US Open Match!!! Of course, I forgot my camera at home. This won't make up for my tennis lessons, but its something new and it definitely beats slaving away at work for 6 more hours!

Nothing smart to say...

...But just felt like saying something on my lonely ride home from work. I need a vacation or at least some medication to get me through this busy season on B-2 - the dungeon...so much for a promotion...2 floors below ground is way more than 6 feet under and that's how I feel write about now. Erf.

One Liners . . .

No Regrets

My uncle just sent me a PowerPoint of Edith Piaf and it made me remember this song and an old email . . .

Regret for the things we did can be tempered by time; it is regret for the things we did not do that is inconsolable. -Sydney J. Harris

Life is not lost by dying; life is lost minute by minute, day by dragging day, in all the thousand small uncaring ways. -Stephen Vincent Benét

The world is gettting smaller

This is not my first rant on the topic, but I want to put a positive spin on things (for a change).

Online social networking sites are changing tremendously how we communicate. What's more is that they are changing whom we communicate with. Through facebook, I've found people I went to camp with 10 years ago, former classmates, colleagues and even my managers. Through odnoklassniki, I found classmates from 1st grade, neighbors and relatives half way across the globe. It's amazing that with a simple click you can see where a person lives, works, what they look like and who their "friends" are. What's more amazing is that the last time I saw my cousin was 12years ago and now we are trying to catch up for lost time.

It's crazy how life threw all of us all over the place. The Jewish and the Russian diaspora scattered us like seeds on a windy day. We all grew roots wherever we ended up, but let's never forget where we came from and what prior generations have gaven up for our lives, our prosperity and our freedom.
